On December 5, 2018, the National Library of Uzbekistan hosted an event called “Huquqim-tayanchim mening” (My right is my support), dedicated to the day of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event, organized in conjunction with the Military Medical Faculty at the Tashkent Medical Academy, was attended by students and faculty members of the Republican Specialized Music Academic Lyceum named after R. Glier and library users.
Opening the event, the editor of the publishing house of the National Library of Uzbekistan Javlon Jovliev noted the role of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the life of every citizen, spoke about the importance of legal literacy. He emphasized the role of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan in ensuring the protection of human rights and freedoms, peace and tranquility in the country, political stability, social harmony and economic development of Uzbekistan. He once again emphasized that the Constitution states that the state expresses the will of the people. He also spoke about writers and poets who praised our main law in their works - the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. And he brought examples from their works.
At the beginning of the event a documentary film titled “Principles of the constitutional system of Uzbekistan” was presented in the column "The Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Fundamentals of Reforms" on the development and reforming of the concept of deep reform of its entire spheres in the development of our country.
Professor of Tashkent State Law University, Doctor of Laws Omonulla Mukhammadjonov spoke about human rights and compared them with previous editions, apart from the obligations set out in the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He also cited some examples from the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, guaranteeing the freedom of representatives of different nationalities and faiths, preserving the national values and heritage of the Uzbek people and noted the role of self-governing bodies of citizens (makhallas) in enhancing legal literacy and political culture of citizens.
Member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, poet Shukur Kurbon spoke about the role and importance of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the people's wellbeing, the country's financial, political, democratic and military development, and read poems of its own.
Lawyer consultant of the National Library of Uzbekistan Mukimjon Zakirov spoke about the historical significance of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, its structure and content, as well as the role of legal literacy.
The event featured melodies that glorify the beauty of our Motherland performed by students of the Republican Specialized Music Academic Lyceum named after R. M. Glier.
An open exhibition of literature devoted to the 26th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was demonstrated during the event. The main exhibit was the Constitution - the basic law of the state. It contains books that reveal the essence and essence of the Constitution, deeply and perfectly study our constitution and other important laws based on it, as well as books that help to raise their legal awareness and building a democratic state of law and a fair civil society in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
