On July 7, 2018, the national library of Uzbekistan hosted a creative meeting of the members of the "Club of gifted youth " with famous Azerbaijani poets Salim Babulla oglu and Azhdar Ol. The meeting was attended by Uzbek writers and poets, translators, representatives of the Azerbaijani cultural center in Uzbekistan and users of the library.
Speakers at the event, the national poet of Uzbekistan, Usmon Azim, candidate of philological Sciences Tokhir Kahhor, translator Bobojon Muhammad Sharif, poetess Uktamoy Holdorova, Dilbar Khaidarova spoke about the history, present and future of the Uzbek-Azerbaijani literary relations and listed the outstanding representatives contributing to the strengthening and development of these relations.
"The history of literary relations between the Uzbek and Azerbaijani peoples, whose language, culture, customs and traditions are close to each other, date back to ancient times. For more than six centuries, the Uzbek and Azerbaijani literary ties, which began in the period of classical literature, are growing stronger. During the years of independence, a number of works of Azerbaijani authors were translated into Uzbek, Uzbek authors into Azerbaijani and presented to the readers. Within the framework of literary relations in both countries, articles, anthologies and dissertations are written, brochures, monographs, collections dedicated to the literature of that country are published. An example of such relations is the work of famous Azerbaijani poets Salim Babulla oglu and Azhdar Ol," the people's poet of Uzbekistan Usmon Azim said.
Modern Azerbaijani poet and essayist Salim Babulla oglu was born in 1972. He is the author of many poems and stories. He translated the works by Turkish, Russian, Uzbek, English and Georgian poets. In his translation were published works of poets such as Orhan Vali, Joseph Brodsky, Cheslav Milos. Salim Babulla oglu is the winner of several international and national awards. He is the editor-in-chief of the world literature magazine and a member of the writers ' Union of Azerbaijani writers.
The poet Ajdar Ol (Dzhabiyev Aidar Faizulla oglu) was born in 1958 in Gazimammad. In 1979 he graduated from Ganja state pedagogical Institute. He was a teacher at school, a proofreader and Junior editor at the publishing company "Ishik" (Light) and editor-in-chief of the publishing house "Shur". He is currently the head of the press service of the Ministry of Finance. He writes poems, stories, plays. He is the author of more than twenty books. His works have been published in Turkey, Iran and Poland.
In the event members of the "Club of gifted youth" read poems of authors in Azerbaijani, Uzbek and Russian languages. At the end of meetings Salim Babulla oglu and Azhdar Ol thanked the organizers of the event and shared their impressions about the trip to Samarkand and Bukhara.
