Assigning a Classification Index to publications (UDC, LBC)

Service of cataloging and classification the National library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi provides services to publishing houses of Uzbekistan's centralized cataloging of local publishing products.

The service includes the preparation of a mock catalogue cards: a full bibliographic description of the edition with the index UDC and LBC and copyright sign.

The layout of the index cards is based on the provision of information by the publisher from the title page and output editions. After you design a card catalogue, it will be published by the publisher on the back of the title page of the edition, to facilitate cataloguing of this edition of information and library institutions of the Republic.

UDC (Universal decimal classification) and LBC (Library bibliographic classification) is a classification system of ordered location information-library resources in a logical sequence and subordination (according to classes, subclasses and further, more fractional units), based on characteristics of content, form, publication, reading assignments, etc.

Universal decimal classification (UDC) - is a classification system of information, widely used in the world to systematization of works of science, literature and art, periodicals, various types of documents and organization of files.
The Central part of the UDC are the basic tables covering the entire body of knowledge and based on the hierarchical principle of division from the General to the specific using a digital decimal code.

Universal decimal classification as a whole is characterized by several key properties: universality.

Library-bibliographic classification (LBC) is a classification system designed to organize library collections, systematic catalogs and card indexes by the disclosure of the content of printed works in the form of a slender scientifically well-founded system of knowledge.

The basis of BBK is the classification of the Sciences and phenomena of reality, based on the principles of objectivity and development. It is expressed in a certain subordination of the Sciences, according to the classification of types of matter and forms of its motion, the transition from lower to higher, from simple to complex. BBK includes an intermediate, transitional science, the science that studies the object at a certain structural level, it reflects the growing processes of differentiation and integration of Sciences.
